Samuel Shaw is the senior pastor. He was born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1959. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Department of Architecture of Tunghai University, and originally dreamed of becoming an architect. But, God's call changed his life's direction.He has led Banner Church for more than 20 years.

He is passionate about the church and his sermons, often delivered in a humorous style, are well received. Although somewhat introverted and shy, he is always optimistic about the future and is overflowing with faith.Believing in God is the key to achieving! His favorite verse from the Bible is Habakkuk 2:14: For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

He is married to Associate Pastor May Tsai and they have two children. They all work together in service to the church. Pastor Samuel has also written a book entitled Church, As I See Her.
